So, how would you like to work for a company that hired you to supervise a team of employees that the firm spent hundreds of millions of dollars to assemble? You have one goal each year, and for three consecutive years, you fail to meet that one goal. Worse yet, your performance deteriorates each year. The customers are frustrated and disappointed and even angry. But, your boss rewards you with a new contract. All you really need to do is sit there and look smug and entitled, and maybe claim a cute nickname. Performance is irrelevant. Pretty good gig, huh?
